Please welcome Ms. Evans to Steep Falls in her role as our PE teacher! Ms. Evans has been teaching in Maine for 20 years. She started teaching in Bonny Eagle at Steep Falls for 2 years, at BEMS for 10 years, and then EDL & GEJ for the past 3 years. Ms Evans is looking forward to returning to Steep Falls to work with the wonderful teachers, students and families. She spends her summers spending time with family and friends paddle boarding, walking, kayaking, and boating while enjoying the beautiful Maine weather.

Please welcome Samantha Pelkey to Steep Falls Elementary!
Hello Steep Falls! I’m Nurse Sam and I’m so excited to join you for the upcoming school year! I became a CNA in 2019 and graduated from the nursing program at SMCC in 2023. I’ve spent most of my healthcare career at Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. I have a passion for teaching health and wellness, and taking care of boo-boos, big and small.
I’m a mom of two. I enjoy reading and coloring. And I love coffee!
Although this will be my first year as a school nurse, I’m looking forward to learning and growing with you all!

Please welcome Laura Luchetti to Steep Falls in her role as Art teacher!
Hi! My name is Laura and I am entering my third year with the district as an elementary art teacher. I am really excited to share that starting this year I will be teaching at all 3 Standish schools, Edna Libby, GEJ, and Steep Falls! I grew up in Saco and graduated from the University of New England. I live in Biddeford with my Fiancé and our 2 cats, Toothless and Dumpling. I can’t wait to start the school year and meet all my new friends!

Please welcome Mr. Warner back to Steep Falls in his new role as our STEM teacher. We are so excited to have him!
Joining the Standish and Steep Falls schools this year as a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM!) specialist is Mr. Dave Warner. We are thrilled for this addition to our learning communities!
Originally from Massachusetts, Dave went south, to Virginia, for college, where he met his wife, Jillian. After obtaining his Master's degree from Norwich University, Dave began teaching in Arlington, Virginia, helping local students gain admission to the prestigious Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, and flex their curiosity in the Arlington County School District. In 2020, he and his wife relocated back to New England to be nearer to family, and last year, he joined Steep Falls Elementary as a long-term 5th-Grade Substitute Teacher. When he is not tinkering with technology, or building interactive lessons, Mr. Warner can be found fly fishing the Saco, crafting and painting at home, or hiking with his wife and hound dog, Winnie. He is excited to pose thought-provoking questions, and provide problem-filled conundrums so our students can think, grow, and solve their way to success!

Welcome Ms. Lind to Steep Falls Elementary!
We are thrilled that Edna will be gaining the experiences of Ms. Lind this year, who has shifted from GEJ and Hollis schools to work with our Standish and Steep Falls schools. Welcome, Ms. Lind!
Hello Edna Libby students and families! My name is Valerie Lind, and I am excited to serve as the new music teacher at Edna Libby Elementary School this year. While this will be my second year with the district—having joined in January of the previous school year—it marks my first year teaching at all three of the Standish elementary schools. As a graduate of the MSAD 6 school district, it has been rewarding to come back to this wonderful school community. I’m excited to help our students explore, create, and grow through music throughout the year!
