One in five Maine kids experience food insecurity, including many kids and families in our school district.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides foodbenefits to qualifying families to supplement your grocery budget, so you can afford the nutritious food essential to the health and well-being ofyour family.
SNAP can help: Your family buy nutritious foods; our school receive more funding; and increase spending power at participating farmers’ markets and grocery stores with Maine Harvest Bucks and Farm Fresh Rewards.
For more information, to prescreen your eligibility, or to apply for SNAP, please visit www.mymaineconnection.gov. - Sep 29, 2025 · Steep Falls Elementary School

Please welcome Ms. Evans to Steep Falls in her role as our PE teacher! Ms. Evans has been teaching in Maine for 20 years. She started teaching in Bonny Eagle at Steep Falls for 2 years, at BEMS for 10 years, and then EDL & GEJ for the past 3 years. Ms Evans is looking forward to returning to Steep Falls to work with the wonderful teachers, students and families. She spends her summers spending time with family and friends paddle boarding, walking, kayaking, and boating while enjoying the beautiful Maine weather.
